Stop Drop and Roll with the Punches is a program in which Billy brings us face to face with the fire service segment known as “Community Risk Reduction.” His name is synonymous with fire prevention, and he brings us his wealth of experience and people to help us understand the importance of community risk reduction.

Fire prevention, you say? Yawwn….. Not so!

Keep in mind just how sizzling hot this topic has risen to the forefront in the social mediasphere recently. The topic of “fire porn” has bubbled up to the surface with much clamor from firefighters all over the nation. So, as we work our way through the programs, we’ll begin at the beginning and culminate at the present: addressing the fire service’s current culture of change in order to make the changes necessary to ensure the profession continues to grow and flourish. It was true then, and it’s true now.

The fire service culture has yet to embrace prevention.

In part two of the series, Stop, Drop, and Roll With the Punches host Billy D. Hayes and his panel of fire prevention professionals take aim on raising community risk reduction to the level of importance it deserves. Listen in on insights and suggestions from Chief Dennis Rubin, formerly with the Washington D.C. Fire and EMS Department, Fire Chief Alan Schuman, formerly the Georgia State Fire Marshal and the president of the National Association of State Fire Marshals, Jim Narva, Executive Director of the National Association of State Fire Marshals, and Mike Love, retired Fire Marshal for Montgomery County MD.
